Vedanta and Poverty Reduction
Poverty reduction continues to be among the highest priorities for global policy makers. Significantly, even after two centuries of unprecedented technical and industrial progress, billions of individuals continue to subsist on less than $2 per day. In addition, 25,000 people die of hunger or hunger-related causes each day according to the United Nations.
